The Boy Scouts of America National Training Task Force has consolidated the Leader Training Awards for Cub Scout Leaders to bring the training, tenure and job performance in alignment with the establish standards of the other levels of the Boy Scout Leader programs.

All levels of Den leadership are consolidated under the Den Leader Training Award, all Committee positions including Pack Trainer have been consolidated under the Scouter Training Award for Cub Scouting, and the Cubmaster Training Award has been brought in alignment with the unit level leaders of Troops and Crews by standardizing the requirements under the Unit Leader Key award.

These should not be viewed as "awards", but as a job description used to guide in the development of the skills needed to be an effective Cub Scout Leader, and to present a program that meets the Journey to Excellence standards.

The Unit Leader Award of Merit nomination form is also included in this section. Cubmasters are eligible to be nominated to receive this award serving as a primary unit level leader.
