The Outdoor Essentials are listed as such because they are thought to be absolutely essential when venturing in the outdoors. At the Wolf Cub Scout level, these are included in Elective 23 - "Let's Go Camping" as the Eight Outdoor Essentials; while at the Bear Cub Scout level they are included in Elective 25 - "Let's Go Camping" as Ten Outdoor Essentials.
